Welcome to our new Cambridge Association of Architects (CAA) website! Launched on the 18th October 2023 at our Annual Reception, we've updated our website to make it more relevant to our members, and more relevant to those who wish to work with, or commission, one of our incredible local architects. Please explore our new website; discover our upcoming events; join our regular mailing list; find out more about our Monthly Socials; or hear the latest CAA news. If you're a local RIBA member and wish to add a link to your practice, please visit our new CAA Members page, or if you would like to showcase your latest project, please explore our Local Projects page.
CAA Annual General Meeting coming up
On Wednesday March 6th at 6.30PM we will be holding our AGM both in person and on-line. Further details will be provided nearer the time however you may have already received an email from RIBA announcing vacant seats via their website. We have a few vacancies and in particular are seeking volunteers to join us in the positions below. We would also like to welcome two new volunteers, Sarah Shaw who will be joining Margherita with Event Coordination, and Eliza Papoutsi who will be helping Ann in our Outreach programme. Being part of the Committee is a very rewarding experience and brings you to the heart of the Cambridgeshire architectural community so it's well worth it!
Treasurer. Kelly who has been our Treasurer for many years wishes to retire from the role. I would like to thank Kelly enormously for keeping the CAA ship steady over the years (more thank you's to follow). If you are interested in becoming treasurer, please email Kelly directly for more information treasurer@cambridgearchitects.org.
Student Rep. This position is currently vacant and we're really keen to invite a student onto the committee to help shape the direction of the CAA and create stronger links between local architects and students. If you feel you can take on this role for at least one-year, please get in touch with me for more information chair@cambridgearchitects.org.
We also have vacancies for Secretary, Outreach Coordinator, and an Editor for Cambridge Architecture. Ann Bassett will be stepping down in March and Tom Foggin is wishing to focus on other commitments - an enormous thank you to both for the years of help. We already have potential candidates, however if you feel you would like to stand for these roles, then please do. Nominations will open at 9am on Wednesday, 7 February 2024 and close at 4pm on Wednesday, 14 February 2024. By that time, completed nominations must be received by the Returning Officer through the online nominations form as set out in the RIBA Guidance Notes. Candidates can nominate themselves by submitting nomination papers using this link by the deadline.
