Upcoming CFCI Meetings

The thirty-fourth AGM of the CFCI will be held on Monday 2nd February at 6.10pm in the Elton-Bowring room, Gillespie Centre, Clare College, Cambridge. The full agenda and appropriate reports will be issued two weeks before that date. Any items for inclusion should be sent to the Secretary by Monday 19 January 2015.

Monday 12th January: Northstowe – A new town in the making
Northstowe has survived the years of recession and downturn in the housing market and commencement on site is now imminent. It will be an exemplar new town of up to 10,000 new homes built to high environmental standards of layout and design and will allow for sustainable patterns of living and lifestyle choices. Gallagher Estates will talk about the challenges in bringing this project to fruition. Monday 2nd February: AGM and the relocation of Papworth Hospital.
The Trust and the Skanska design team will present the ‘Case of Need’ for the relocation, the design solution, the procurement process and logistics for what will be a major development of in excess of £1bn in value. Read more...
Monday 23rd February: Cambridge Assessment
Cambridge Assessment is proposing to invest in a new purpose-built HQ at the site known as ‘The Triangle’ currently used by Cambridge University Press. Eric Parry Architects, designers of the building which has outline planning permission, will talk to the Forum about the project. Read more..
Monday 9th March: City Awards: The Candidates’ Submissions
The City of Cambridge Design Awards will be presented at the CFCI Annual Dinner. Here is an opportunity to hear the candidates speak about their projects in a rapid-fire presentation format. More details will be placed on the website when available.

These meetings will be held at the Gillespie Centre, Clare College, Queens Road, Cambridge from 6.30.
Annual Dinner 2015: Friday 27th March. Tickets for this event will be priced at £120 and application forms issued in January.
CFCI Seminar: Cambridge Growth - Can we deliver? Monday 20 April 2015
We will be holding a seminar at Robinson College in the New Year to consider how the construction industry responds to what is predicted to be an overheated local market. Lunch will be provided and there will be opportunities for networking both before and after the event. More details will be sent to members in the New Year.
